The Arts Journey Solutions Blog has already posted tons of resources on Social Media best practices and examples.  Therefore instead of retelling these stories here are links to the two most popular AJS Social Media Blogs with what to do suggestions: http://artsjourneysolutions.blogspot.com/2013/05/purpose-of-social-media-in-american.html and http://artsjourneysolutions.blogspot.com/2013/04/10-recommended-social-media-strategies.html.  And also remember there are Labels links on the side of our Blog and Social Media has 30 entries as of today.  Get reading!

A basic to remember:

Social Media
            Interaction + Reaction = Conversation

Some general thoughts -

Twitter
To Tweet or Not to Tweet – It is not for everyone.  Before you add new forms of Social Media consider how / if you can keep them up and also ask yourself do we need this too?

Blogging – Who do we really want to hear from?

Two typical options:
·      Voice of the People – the everyday person that supports your organization
·      The “Untouchable One” – the artist director, a performer, etc.

Have Video, Will Share

As a general rule of thumb, if you are on YouTube share that on your other sites and help build uniformity in Social Media sites and your message.

·      Facebook
·      Twitter
·      Bogging
·      LinkedIn
