The next survey question then asks what age group
orchestras most want to respond to their social media posts. Orchestras were given the option to respond
to as many age ranges as they felt appropriate.
The range of 36-49 ranked highest, followed by 27-35. These two ranges span the end of the Baby
Boomer Generation though Generation X and into Generation Y.

The final statistical question asked if Social Media was
seen as an important organizational tool.
One percent responded “No” and 12% were unsure. The remaining responders were positive about
the need for these applications.
Forty-five percent said “Yes, it has some uses” and 42% said “Yes, it is
essential towards accomplishing our mission.”
